Adding players from WhatsApp — bulk import for organisers
We know that shifting your club's operations from existing tools to a new platform is a big commitment. You've got systems that work — WhatsApp groups for RSVPs, spreadsheets or a notepad for attendance and payments. It's not broken, so why fix it?
Courtex is designed to meet you where you are. You don't have to go all in from day one. You can keep using the tools your players are comfortable with, and layer Courtex in where it adds the most value.
Import players from any messaging app
The new bulk import feature lets you continue collecting RSVPs in WhatsApp, Messenger, or any other messaging platform. When the final list of names comes through, just copy it, paste it into Courtex, and the players are added to your session's attendee list.
No need for players to create an account. No need for them to learn a new interface. You handle everything on your end, and Courtex takes care of the tracking.
Import players from list
Paste names from a WhatsApp message or spreadsheet below, one per line. Duplicates and existing players will be skipped automatically.
The import handles numbered lists automatically — 1. John Smith, 1) Jane Doe, (1) Bob Wilson all become clean names. Emoji markers and bullet points are stripped too, so whatever format your group uses, it just works.
Once imported, the names appear in your session's attendee table. From there you can:
- Mark who turned up
- Track who has paid (cash, bank transfer, or other)
- Remove players if they drop out
- See the total attendance at a glance
Try it without the commitment
If you're not sure yet, here's the thing — you can use Courtex like a private notebook. Create sessions without making them visible to the public. No one needs to know you're using it except you.
When you sign up, you get 3 free publish credits — enough to run 3 sessions and see how it fits your workflow.
How it works
- Open the Players tab in your session's management page
- Click Import from list
- Paste the names from your messaging app (one per line)
- Click Import — the names are added as non-user participants
- Use the attendance and payment checkboxes to track the session
A full how-to guide is coming soon to the for-organisers page with more detail and tips.
Spreadsheets are great — but this is easier
Spreadsheets are the ultimate swiss army knife of software, and we genuinely respect them. But if you're copying names from WhatsApp into a spreadsheet or onto paper just to track who paid, the bulk import feature gives you a faster path from message to management.
